    Unanswered: redo and temp-files

    Hello there,

How large should are redo files be. The size of the database itself(users) is 50 mb. Why is the temp so big? Does it grow when you delete a schema and recreate it a few times?

    system 250
    temp 4000
    undo 250
    users 50
    redo 250
    redo 250
    redo 250

    beforehand thanks!

No real consequence apart from using up your disk space. Does seem a bit big for your database, use alter database datafile... resize to say 250M. Temp is used for things like sorts or index rebuilds etc.

Redolog files should be maintained small say 50M
Because, if u r running the database in ArchiveLog mode then the IO will be small in this case.
