    Unhappy Unanswered: Problem with max-availability

    Hi all,
we are installing dataguard in two servers, one as primary and the second one as physical standby. We have followed the steps in 'Oracle dataguard. Concepts and administration' till the point '3.3 Verifing the Physical standby database' and all is OK. We have created a dataguard broker configuration with the two sites and resources. After 'show configuration', 'show site...' and 'show resource...' all is ok and success.
We want to put dataguard as max-availability. We command in the dataguard broker: 'ALTER RESOURCE 'vtsdb_2' ON SITE 'progreso_2' SET PROPERTY LogXptMode=SYNC;' and we obtain the error:
    'ORA-16789 Missing standby redo logs'
If we tray 'ALTER CONFIGURATION SET PROTECTION MODE AS MAXAVAILABILITY;' we obtain:
'ORA-16627 no standby databases support overall protection mode'
In the standby server, in the folder indicated by the control file, there aren't any redo file. We have tried to add one, but we obtain an error.
After 'select * from v$log' in the standby server, all the logs appear with status 'clearing' except one of them that has status 'clearing-current'.
¿What can be wrong? ¿How can we solve it?
    Thank you

    Thumbs up

    HI,

Standby redo logs are missing when needed for certain log transport modes. Check the Data Guard documentation to create standby redo logs on the standby.

    Thank you for your answer.
There is some favorite place or name for those standby redo logs?
