    Unhappy Unanswered: OOUCH this is hurting... CAN U HELP???

    I am trying to write to a access database and i am getting the following error message:-


    Error Type:
    Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
    [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Operation must use an updateable query.
    C:\INETPUB\WWWROOT\DIAGNOSTICS\../includes/databaseFunctions.asp, line 92

    When i go to line 92 i get the following sub routine:-

    sub updateDatabase(mySQL, rsTemp, scriptName)

    call openDb()

    WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!

    this is part of a shopping cart program, and guess what,,,

    Comersus are not very help full i have had this problem for around 2wks and my employer is not happy because are site is down and were losing money.

    You need to post the actual call to the updatedatabase function - including the parameters being passed.

    Have you made sure that the database is not read-only? Also make sure that the sub-folder where the database is placed has write access rights on it.
