    Unanswered: security migration

    newbie here..

    is there export / migration wizards to copy all security, schema, server settings in SQL 2k to another new server?

    Data Transformation Services (DTS) ( http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...s_overview.asp ) will probably do what you are looking for, Books Online and the MS Knowledgebase would be good places to start, as well as Google (the master of all knowledge IMO)

    sp_help_revlogin (see: http://support.microsoft.com/default...&Product=sql2k ) is a good/easy way to transfer logins, passwords and SUIDs

    another way to do it is to set up the other server identically in regards to MSSQL version, filenames and paths, and migrate your databases along with the master database (special procedure to restore master, see books online or MSKB)

    yes using export utility u can transfer database and logins to another server
