    I would format the data in the query to make it look how it is supposed to look using an IIf statement if needed. The report would then just show the data as I formatted it. Another solution may be to use one field for only one type of data. What are the possibilities you are required to format ( date, text, number, Nulls, ...)? I ask because if the field is always a number then the format property may be enough to do what you need.

    You can try:

    Private Sub Detail_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer)
    If Amt >= 85 Then
    Amt.FontWeight = 700
    Else
    Amt.FontWeight = 400
    End If
    End Sub

    Another way:
    Open report in Design View
    Format Menu
    Conditional Formatting
    Hit f1 for Help.

    This functionality is basically exactly what is in Excel's conditional formatting. Can be very useful for certain things, though somewhat limited.
