Hi, thanx for the reply. Actually I had been to the microsoft before posting this message. That didn't work out because I had SP5 for my SQL 6.5 . I copied the entire data to another test database and then copied the index structure. I then dropped the table in the live database and then recreated it
select into destinationdatabase..table name from sourcedatabase..table name where 1=2
This is what I had used. Since I was being able to select from the table this was possible. Incase this was not possible, then I would have to restore that table from dumps.

If I remember correctly - it is usual problem for 6 and 6.5. How to resolve it? Restore from good backup and another - save a data into other place (disk, database), recreate table and put data back. It was working like a charm. On one of our branches we were doing this every Friday while we did buy new server.
