    Question Unanswered: how to import multi line data

    hi

    OS: WIN2K and AIX
    version: 8.1.3 WSE and 7.2.7 EE

    I need to import a del format data. however, it has a column that stores multi line. I must export in del to allow amendments on the file and re-import them back. However, when importing back it treats multiline data as separate row and reject all records.

    table structure:
    ===========
    CREATE TABLE mytable
    (
    ID INTEGER NOT NULL,
    SSTEXT VARCHAR(500) NOT NULL,
    NUMIMAGE SMALLINT NOT NULL DEFAULT 0,
    NUMCONTENT SMALLINT NOT NULL DEFAULT 0,
    NUMPDF SMALLINT NOT NULL DEFAULT 0,
    constraint mytable_PK primary key (ID)
    )
    in MYAPPSPACE1;

    data:
    =====
    99,"<?xml version='1.0' encoding='ISO-8859-1'?>
    <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl='http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform' version='1.0'>
    <xslutput method='html'/></tr>...
    </table>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>",1,1,2

    import and export script used
    ===================

    EXPORT TO c:\mytable.del OF DEL MODIFIED BY chardel"" coldel, decpt. datesiso decplusblank MESSAGES c:\msg SELECT * FROM myblobtable;

    IMPORT FROM c:\mytable.del OF DEL MODIFIED BY chardel"" coldel, decpt. COMMITCOUNT 500 MESSAGES c:\imp INSERT_UPDATE INTO mytable;

    Greatly appreciate any assistance/tips.

    You can use the DELPRIORITYCHAR File Type Modifier and this should fix your problem. See the Command Reference for more information.
