Unanswered: hiding shares, still accessible via ODBC?

Hi, is it possible through registry settings or specific tools to hide folder shares from being displayed in Explorer/MyComputer/Dialog boxes etc. - without limiting the access to MDB files in those folders through ODBC?

My current situation is on a workgroup TCPIP network without any servers, just simple Windows XP computers sharing files.

The "simple sharing" option is not enabled, so user groups and selective folder access is being used.

    share it like this
    sharename$

this won't allow other to browse for the share.

then you would have to type the full path to connect to the share

for example shared as testshare$ the path would be

    \\servername\testshare$\
this should do it for you

By the way when you go to re-map the liked tables you need to type
    \\PCNAME\SHARENAME\RESTOFPATH\DATABASENAME.mdb
into the file name text box to change the links
