    Unanswered: Lock a form but not its subform

    Hi,

    How can you lock a form so that no data can be edited but allow edits to be carried out in it's subform?

    A simple way is to set the fields properties that you dont want anyone to enter data into:

    Enabled = No
    Locked = Yes

    Looks just like a regular text box but you can not set focus to the control

    Thanks

    but the problem is I have a add new record on the form. So is there any code that I could use to release all locks on the ONClick Event of the add new record button?

    Take out the add record on the main and set the sub form Property: Data Entry = Yes
    This will allow you to show the main forms data and force the sub form to only add new record for the current main forms data

    See the attached DB for the example
