    Unanswered: Linked server to FileMaker

    I am trying to create a linked server from SQL Server 2000 to FileMaker 6. I have tried using the Enterprise Manager 'New Linked Server' method as well as executing sp_addlinkedserver. Since I know of no OLE driver for FileMaker I have been trying to use the Microsoft OLE DB Driver for ODBC ('MSDASQL') as the provider, with my FileMaker DNS name as the data source.

    EXEC sp_addlinkedserver
    @server = 'Job List',
    @srvproduct = 'FileMaker',
    @provider = 'MSDASQL',

    At best when I go to view tables against an open FileMaker session with sharing turned on I get an hour glass. When I've changed the add linked server parameters I get 'unknown' errors.

    I have tried using the FileMaker passwords as passwords and as userid and passwords. I have created a new FileMaker file with no passwords.

    The FileMaker ODBC source works for Excel queries.

    Any words of wisdom?

    Thanks, Karjala
