    Unanswered: reorg command

Can someone suggest the best method for using reorg compact on large tables and determinine when the whole table has been reorg'g. From the manuals it looks like you specify the resume option and a time, but it says it rolls around if it completes the table and starts over.

    thanks

    That's not quite right!!!

If you use the resume option, it will continue from that point onwards. If the REOG is stopped half way through for whatever reason, it does NOT rollback the maintenance job that it has completed till that point.

Thanks, but do you just have to monitor optdiag to know if the table is maintained properly. Not like running update statistics where it runs and completes once the whole table is done? Seems like reorg does not indicate when all pages in the table have been processed.
