    Unanswered: query

    hi

    i have a field in my database named "balance". how can i retrieve records that are in debit or credit balance??? i mean how can i retrieve records from query that are all only in debit balance???

    is this possible?

    If I understand your situation correctly, could you not simply use the query grid to use an If..Then statement in the criteria?

    If ([Field1]< [Field2], [balance]="Credit", [balance]="Debit")

    Or some variation of that???

    hi,

    the field "balance" that i am mentioning is not a calculated field. it is just a normal data field.

    i just wanted to know how can i retieve those records that have the negative balance and using the query for displaying to a report.

    example in my table, if this customer has a negative balance of $4000, it will display ($4,000.00). if otherwise positive balance, it will display in my table as $4,000.00

    so from here how can i retireve those records that are in negative balance???

    Query criteria

    My guess based on what you've described would be..placing <0 in the criteria of "balance" on the query grid?
