    Unanswered: SQL SERVER STARTING Problem

    I am really facing big problem , when i am trying to start Enterprise manager getting following errror message.
    "A connection couldn't be establish to realserver
    Reason: SQL SERVER does not exist or acess denied.
    ConnectionOpen(Connect()).."

    But I am very much sure my Sa password is corret as well as I have tried to use windows authentication but getting same error.

    One more thing I have noticed when I am not getting the link of service manager at Start-> programfile-> SQLSERVER-> SERVice manager

    I want to say thanks in advance for immidiate support.

    Thank You

    Are you connecting locally or remotely ? Have you tried using the ip address and not the server name ?

    Also have you tried testing the connection via OBDC - Test Source Option. You should also be able to see the server from the server list to make sure the server name is correct.

    You should also see if you can ping the server.

    Other considerations may be
    - CAPS lock on/off.
    - blank spaces

    Also, if you're using Named Pipes, your Windows logon has to be known to the server. Switch to TCP to avoid this issue.
