    Unanswered: Date problem

    This is strange? Isn't it ?

    select pvm , to_char(pvm,'DD-MM-SYYYY') , dump(pvm) from huu
    01-JAN-99
    00-00-00000
    Typ=12 Len=7: 1,1,1,1,1,1,1

    First two bytes of datefield, should be century and year (-100).
    1-100 = -99
    1-100 = -99
    But year -9999 is less than minimum of oracle (-4713).

    This date was inserted to table by baan. (erp software).
    But I can't do it myself using sqlplus. (But I really would like to)
    Any suggestions, anyone?

    If you are using signed years, then include the +/- with the year data. I.e., 12/08/+2003.
    There is also a bug in older versions of Oracle. Make sure you are using 817 or higher.
