    Unanswered: SQL 2000 ACTIVE/ACTIVE CLuster

I am about to embark on build of active/active SQL cluster using 2 dell 2650s and 2 220s. Has anyone experience documentation or guidelines on this. Particulary around where the quorum sits if you have two separate storage units (no central point) I have set up active/passive before with a central storage unit.

    Thanks

Will you be installing it on Win 2003 or Win 2000? Do you know setting up an Active/Active means you have to setup an Active/Passive on each nod? It's very expensive!

The single point that has tripped us up with a Win2000 active/active cluster is that the quorum drive needs to be a separate PHYSICAL device in the disk array. Yes, this means that you will have an 18GB partition for less than 100MB of data, but microsoft has that buried in some article. You will still be supported, but they will cluck their tongues at you.

Its a win 2003 cluster and kit is in place, if you have quorum on one disk then what would be preferred disk config for this and which das unit does this disk have to be on (does it matter). OUr config is

Two PV220S made up of 10X73GB drives.

    Thanks
