Question Unanswered: Displaying data in a bound check box?

I'm initially using a form with unbound check boxes to capture information. As each record is saved/appended to a table, I determine if the check box is checked (True) and write a "Y" or whether it is unchecked (False) and write a "N" to the table.

Here's my problem............I've created another identical form to allow users to view/modify saved records on the SQL database table. I'm trying to populate the bound check box with the existing data. How do I "convert" the data on the table (Y) to a "checked" box?

Re: Displaying data in a bound check box?

Do you have a field in the table representing the data state?

Can you use the boolean data type in your table?
That is all a check box needs.

The data type on the SQL table for these fields is text, i.e. "Y" and "N".

    Try
    Me!MyChkBox=(YourTableField="Y")

You would be better off changing the field to Boolean as there would be no massaging needed.

You could try setting the data source of the checkbox to

    = IIf([fieldname] = "y", True, False)

    That help?
