Unanswered: exporting to read only excel file

    Hi,
I have some data in an access database which I want to export to excel. I can export the data but once my program opens the excel file I want it to be read-only so my users can look the data, but not manipulate and screw up the template I have made. When I make the file read-only, my DoCmd.TransferSpreadsheet no longer works because the excel file is read only.

Any idead how I can solve this ?

    cheers

Try to export it at first, then change its mode to ReadOnly using the Application.FileSearch
