    Unanswered: Graphic or hour glass while waiting

    I have a process that takes awhile to complete, and even though I display a message saying that it will take awhile, it still seems like it isn't doing anything. Is there any way that I can display a graphic (like an animated clock or an hour glass) while the application is busy so that the user knows it is doing something?

    DoCmd.Hourglass = True
    Code that takes time
    DoCmd.Hourglass = False

    Loop that takes time
    me.lblStatus.Caption = rst(0).value
    me.repaint
    End Loop

    You can also use the little blue status bar at the bottom, but you have to calculate a total then where you are on a percentage basis to show an accurate slide. I can't remember the code, so I always just use the .Caption and .Repaint.

    .Repaint also lets you "see" the application when you reactivate the window.
    All code ADO/ADOX unless otherwise specified.

    Screen.MousePointer = 11 'Busy Hourglass
    Screen.MousePointer = 0 'default
