I'm having a problem connecting to Sybase ASE server on localhost using JDBC.. here's my code, that worked fine on a remote server, but now when I try to run Sybase on a localhost, it doesn't:

      prop = new Properties();
      prop.put("user", "arhar");
      prop.put("password", "*******");

      Class c=Class.forName("com.sybase.jdbc.SybDriver");
      Driver = (Driver) c.newInstance();
      DriverManager.registerDriver((Driver) Driver);
      con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:sybase:Tds:localhost:5000",prop);
Any help? I don't get any error message... The program just stops and does nothing, by the time it gets to the con = .. statement. I'm running out of ideas here... maybe I should use some proxy? If so, how do I set it up?
