keep the logfiles small and increase the number
see the frequency of the checkpoint.
Try to keep the checkpoints low

As you said that try to keep the checkpoint low, and other side you say that keep the logfile small, WHich is definetely increase the Checkpoints.

    Possible Causes of This Wait-Event:
    (1) Server Process waits to get redo allocation latch.
    (2) There is no free space in the log Buffer.

So if you get this error along with any log file events, Problem is with the I/O system. In this case do following.

Minimise the disk contentin by placing only log files on that disk. Do not keep any other files on this disk.

If you get this event along with 'latch free events' (V$LATCH), then Problem of getting redo allocation latch.

If there is no latch Events, then This problem is Due to insufficient Space of redo log Buffer.

Increase the Space of log buffer and have a fun!!!

Following the above steps definitely solve your proble.

    Hi Hings,
Yes you r correct abt checkpoint issue,
But what i meant is that,
log_checkpoint_interval should be kept for relatively HIGH value.
