Unanswered: changing port setting for DB2 and client configuration access

We currently run our DB2 UDB 7.2 on FP6 AIX 5.2L instance and database on port 40000 for use with client configuration and TCP/IP connections under /etc/services file. Would it be possible to change this port number on the server and within DB2 without requiring a re-install of DB2? Thanks

Yes, but be sure to stop the instance before you do this. Also keep the dbm cfg parm svcename the same. If you intend to change that, then be sure to update dbm cfg before you stop the instance.

    thanks

Checked and found answer I must need more caffeine today *lol*

    Here is the solution:

    1. add new entries to /etc/services

    2. db2stop/db2start

    3. add port setting in client configuration utility for user local/remote
    clients

    thanx
