Unanswered: ALTER TABLE UNUSABLE LOCAL INDEXES clause

This can be used on a partitioned table to disable indexes prior to mass inserts, so that the overhead of maintaining the indexes on each insert is avoided.

However, this ALTER TABLE clause doesn't seem to work on a nonpartitoned table. Is there any way to accomplish the same result on the index of a nonpartitioned table? And conversely, is there a way to do the same thing with respect to the REBUILD UNUSABLE LOCAL INDEXES clause?

I want to avoid using DROP and CREATE INDEX, because then I need to know the names of the indexes, tablespaces, storage clauses, and so on.
