    Unanswered: Executing shell commands from a function

    Hi,

    Is there a way to execute a shell command from a function?

    An example would be:
    CREATE FUNCTION blah() RETURNS void as '
    EXECUTE '$man'
    RETURN;
    END;
    ' language 'plpgsql';

    Thanks in advance.

    notin plpgsql

    I use this every day
    But you must use an untrusted language
    I use pl/perl untrusted
    http://www.postgresql.org
    --Postgresql is the only kind of thing--
