    Unanswered: Oracle Designer

    Hi everybody,

I am trying to import a .dmp file into Oracle Designer.
But, at the end of import, it appears a message that says:

    "CDR22612: Executable file IMP.EXE USERID= XXX/XXX@mod5 PARFILE = XXXX\ckronimp.tmp not found"

    How can I fix this?

    I waiting for hints....

it depends on the following factors:

    1. What version of designer are you using?

    2. Is the .DMP file you are importing exported from the same version of designer.

    3. If you are using Designer 6i did you clear out the waste basket.

    4. How exactly did you export the .DMP file?

    Answering your questions:.....

    1. What version of designer are you using?
    Oracle Designer 6i
    Version = 6.5.40.2.0

    2. Is the .DMP file you are importing exported from the same version of designer.
I don't know. Because this dmp file came from another country.
I will check it out, but the versions must be equal????

    3. If you are using Designer 6i did you clear out the waste basket.
    Yes, I did.

    4. How exactly did you export the .DMP file?
I don't know because the team in the other country just sent me the .dmp files and now I have to put them in my Designer to visualize the diagrams...
Please, answer me.... I'll be wainting for your help...

    Talking

    The error you are getting
    CDR22612: Executable file IMP.EXE .....

During Designer client installation , at the end, the installer starts the UNIVERSAL INSTALLER to install imp/exp utilities. You must have installed this.
    Check the registry entry of
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\REPOS61\EXECUTE _IMPORT is having the correct path of the import executable.

    this should sort you out

I just discovered, that my registry entry for
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\REPOS61\EXECUTE
    _IMPORT is imp.exe.
But I don't have this imp.exe in my machine.
Can I conclude that Designer installed in the server I am accessing doesn't have the Imp/Exp Utilities?????
So I should reinstall Designer software in the server?
Or is there any different way to solve this problem????

I am waiting for your answers....

oracle is looking for these utilities on your client(PC) so you need to install the imp/exp utilities on you PC. Look at the post above.
