Unanswered: Setting Classpath Through Shell Script

    Hi !

I am trying to append the classpath to the existing classpath. I am
    working on Redhat Linux 8.

    I used the command:
    export CLASSPATH=$CLASSPATH:/usr/../../.jar
But this jar file is not appended in the classpath. How to solve this problem???

    Thanks in advance
    Bye

Where are you using this command?

If you have a shell script that contains this command and you are running it, the new CLASSPATH will only be set in that shell (i.e. within the script).

If you want to have it set in your current shell, source your script rather than execute it.

    e.g.

    . yourScriptThatSetsClasspath
