    in sqlplus i am getting the message

    .....input truncated to 7 characters ....

    what does this mean ?
    how do i get rid of it?

    this is environmental information - don't worry about it...
    someof the environmental variables you can switch on and off are:

    > set verify on/off
    > set echo on/off
    > set feed on/off

    If you are running a script, and you get the 'input truncated to 7 characters ' message, save a blank line at the bottom of your script, it should dissapear...

    Add a new empty line at the end of your SQL script.
