    Angry Unanswered: not able to edit or update with select querie

    I would like users to be able to edit or update records in a form which has been set to 'Continuous Forms'. If I use a query like "select * from Downtimes" with no criteria I am able to edit fields, however, the moment I enter criteria like a date, I am shown what I want to see, but it is read only.
    Can somebody help?
    Thank you in advance.

    sDowntimes = "select Date,DefectReportNo,FleetNo,StartTime,Type,Descrip
    tion,EndTime from Downtimes Where Date =# " & Me.sDate & " # ORDER BY Date"

    Set rsDowntimes = New ADODB.Recordset
    rsDowntimes.Open sDowntimes, db, adOpenKeyset, adLockOptimistic, adCmdText

    Set Form_frmDowntimes.Recordset = rsDowntimes
    Disk space, the final frontier...

    Basically I'd like to be able to have read/write access to data when using a select query. At the moment no matter what I do, I cannot get read/write access unless I open a table directly.

    1. maybe you should use the primary key of the table in your Query, it helped me once when i had readonly but i wanted to write to

    2. why do you use "... WHERE Date=... ODER BY Date" ? When every date is your query is equal why do you wan't to sort it?

    The primary key is in the query and I don't know why I want to sort by date :-), thanks for pointing that out.

    Is more easy in that way.
