    Re: Dba_dependencies ?

Only a DBA can see this view. However, it will be not unlike this one:

    Code:
    SQL> desc all_dependencies
     Name Null? Type
     ------------------------------- -------- ----
     OWNER NOT NULL VARCHAR2(30)
     NAME NOT NULL VARCHAR2(30)
     TYPE VARCHAR2(12)
     REFERENCED_OWNER VARCHAR2(30)
     REFERENCED_NAME VARCHAR2(64)
     REFERENCED_TYPE VARCHAR2(12)
     REFERENCED_LINK_NAME VARCHAR2(128)
     DEPENDENCY_TYPE VARCHAR2(4)
It shows the dependencies of objects on other objects.

By the way - the Table or View does not exist comes because all such Data Dictionary tables and views are owned by SYS. So you would want to do:

    Select * from sys.dba_dependencies.

Oracle also normally has three sets of each of the data dictionary views - user (stuff owned by the current user), all (stuff owned by anyone), and dba (visible only to DBA's). For example - user_tables, all_tables, dba_tables.
