Question Unanswered: Live Filemaker DB on my Linux Server

    Hey,

I work at a technical college and we run our main database out of Filemaker. I personally hate it, but its been in place longer than I've been here so I have to work with what I've got. Anyway, our new webserver is going to be a Linux based machine. We want a php website, but our Filemaker DB is windows based. Is there anyway to query our filemaker DB from windows to our Linux webserver so that our pages are completely up to date? So does anyone know of any problems that I might run into bring a Filemaker query into Linux? If anyone can help or has any idea of what I'm talking about please reply.

    Tommy

I do this using Blueworld's Lasso (www.blueworld.com). It is like PHP but has great support for FMP and MySQL.

Or you could use PHP. Take a look at the FX.php class, free at www.iviking.org. The FX class makes it very easy to interact with FileMaker from PHP.
