I have an instance of a scheduled SQL Server Agent job that continues to execute as per its schedule even though the job is disabled and the jobs schedule is disabled.
I've disabled the job by updating the msdb.dbo.sysjobs and the msdb.dbo.sysjobschedule tables, but although the updates are committed to the tables and reflected when viewing the job in Enterprise Manager, the Agent continues to run and reschedule the job.
Only when the SQL Server Agent is stopped and restarted, does the Agent detect the job has new settings.
Has anyone seen similar behaviour?
I'm running SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3 on Windows 2000
