How to change the original dark gray background where we can find the Database window?

    Is that possible? API?

    Try this link:
    http://www.lebans.com/changemdibackground.htm

I tried it and successfully changed my Access MDI window color from dark gray to purple.

I can't say if there are any side effects and can't make any guarantees.

As you anticipated it was changed via Windows API since changing your system colors from the control panel display applet would affect every app background on the computer.

His example is for Access 97 - I converted the MDB to 2k and it worked fine on my machine.

    Have fun.
