Lightbulb Unanswered: SLQ code for sending email

I'm currently programming a database in Access 97 and I wanted to do 2 things but its been a while so I was wondering if anyone could help.

I want to be able to send an email using a string from a table - with the click of a button

I want to be able to run a query that would check a birthdate sting in a table with the system clock to see if a reminder should go off to remind of a birthday.

    Any ideas? Thanks

To compare two dates where one is a string, use the CDATE function.

    CDATE(string) = date.
Bessie Braddock: Winston, you are drunk!
Churchill: And Madam, you are ugly. And tomorrow, I'll be sober, and you will still be ugly.

Does that code just convert the string to a date data type or does it actually query the system clock?
