    Exclamation Unanswered: Please Help

I am trying to create a database that will allow you to set a password by comparing a entry in a with a query. For example enter "george" (the password from the table) followed by "george" again (for the query to check it against the contents of the table) it should bring you to the form so you can change the password. the only way that I can get this to work is by setting "read only" in the open form option, this is pointless because read only doesnt allow you to change the contents of the form including the password.
What I would like is the ability to edit the password WITHOUT the ability to add other records.

This is the current Where Condition that I am using:
    IIf([Admin]![Password]=[Admin Query]![Password],True,False)
    Data Mode:
    Read Only

Can anyone please help me because I have been stuck for many weeks on this aspect of my project.

    Many Thanks,

    Simon Wedge

Simon. Have a look at the Microsoft Knowlege Base. There is a pretty good article and code to do just what you want.

The only problem with InputBox as I see it from a "password" perspective is that the password inputted is "naked" ... I made a form that has a textbox with the "password" mask (all asterisks) which I currently use ...

Yeah. Sorry, should have mentioned the input box drawback. I use a text box instead.
