    Unanswered: Reverser Engineering Oracle Designer

Can Oracle Designer reverse engineer datasources other than Oracle and creation scripts for environments other than Oracle?

    TIA

Yes. In the parameter screens for both "Capture Server Model from Database" and "Generate Database from Server Model", if you select DDL Files then you can pick a DBMS from the Type list. This includes (in my old version of Designer) SQL Server and Sybase among others.

    Thanks Tony,

How would you say does Designer compare with other data modeling tools such as PowerDesigner (or any other that you may have worked with) when it comes to dealing with database types other than Oracle.

    Thanks Again

No good asking me, I only use Designer and I only use Oracle!
