Unanswered: Dynamic update of DB2 from Oracle

    Hello all,

I'm a complete newcomer to the world of DB2 and Oracle, really only dipped into Access in any depth.

Somehow find myself with the task of updating a DB2 database with Data input to an Oracle database at a different location. The idea being that when the Oracle database is updated the information is passed to the DB2 as well. However some of the fields in the Oracle database are of differing types and sizes, therefore some kind of conversion is required before transfer.

Looked into using Perl DBI, SQL case statements, DB2 Information Integrator and even looked at writing an application from scratch that does the job. So, what I need to know is am i barking up the wrong tree with the suggestions above and is there a standard way of transfering data from one DB to another converting as we go?

Any help would be much appreciated.
