    Red face Unanswered: OraOLEDB drivers

    I have a problem with a VB6 application that is connecting to Oracle.
    Initially I wrote a test app which utilises Oracle Client 8.1.6 OraOLEDB drivers. This works perfectly with the .parameters.refresh call from the VB6 app.

    App Snippet :

    strConn = "Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle.1;Data Source=Server1;" & _
    "User ID=LOOKUP;Password=pass;Persist Security Info=True"

    Set cnDatabase = New ADODB.Connection
    cnDatabase.Open strConn

    Set qryParameterized = New ADODB.Command
    Set qryParameterized.ActiveConnection = cnDatabase

    qryParameterized.CommandText = "ATD_SECURITY.GetAccessRights"

    qryParameterized.CommandType = adCmdStoredProc

    qryParameterized("strInUserName").Size = 100
    qryParameterized("strInPassword").Size = 100
    qryParameterized("strInUserName").Value = strUserName
    qryParameterized("strInPassword").Value = strUserPassword

    We have updated our database to Oracle 9. I have installed a new 9i client and taken down the latest OraOLEDB drivers (

    On attempting to retrieve data from a stored procedure the application severely crashes.

    The procedure receives 2 x Varchar strings (Username and Password) and outputs 1 Varchar and 2 number types.

    I have attempted to use the 9i ODBC drivers and again these work OK.

    The OS I am using is XP Pro.

    Does anyone have any ideas about this problem ?

    Thanks in anticipation...
