We are developing an ERP for a unique industry segment, of which some of the modules right now are in the implementation stage. But currently we don't have anything concrete pertaining to the implementation process.
Can you guys help me in figuring out what can be the things that can be documented in a formal manner for the data migration process. Is there any standard process available for it? Any templates? And what else are the things that are involved as far as implementation process goes?

There is a number of useful links about Data Migration on this page of the Database Answers web site :- http://www.databaseanswers.com/site_map.htm
It includes some vendor names. If you are migrating an ERP then you probably have aserious budget for the work and you could reasonably talk to a shortlist of 3 to get their responses to your requirements.
This can be a cheap (free !!!) way to get a clearer picture of what you need and what's available.
>Is there any standard process available for it?
Yes and no - of course, all migration involves mapping between Sources and Targets which implies a certain format for a Data Dictionary (Ah ha!! ) so if you start thinking along those lines the right ideas will occur to you.
Yes, I have used a Data Dictionary with great effect, based on a simple Access database.

Validation, cleansing and transformation of source data.
This is commonly referred to as ETL (for Extract, Transformation and Load) so if you go to Google and search for ETL you will get 311,000 results.
If you go to Google Groups for Computers you will still get 11,000 results :- http://groups.google.com/groups?group=comp&hl=en
