    Red face Unanswered: startin the agent

    oracle 9i 92040 on x86 (fedora core 1)

    I am having trouble with the agentctl
    1) when I start him , and make a agentclt status right after it, it tells me that it's not running!

    so I go check what is happening with dbsnmp and he tells me that :

    dbsnmp: error while loading shared libraries: libvppdc.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

    Right now I am thinking that the lib wasnt compiled correctly...

    Is there a way to recompile it alone or make it work?

    Everything else is working except with this agent not wanting to start!...

    in the mean time, is it possible to have a link to this lib precompiled?
    Oh btw, on the installation, I wasnt prompted with the second " standard" error! I only recieved the ins_oemagent and I resolved it as it should...
    or is it... ( investigating on this new avenue)...

    Thumbs up

    Hi

    Verify that libvppdc.so does exist in the $O_H/lib location. Also, the failure in relinking the agent could be related to environment settings. Insure that the following environment settings ARE NOT set:

    LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5
    LDEMULATION=elf_i386_glibc21
    SATHISH .

    DBSNMP for Linux: Version 9.2.0.4.0 - Production on 12-JAN-2004 05:40:15

    Could not contact agent. It may not be running.

    this is the message for the agentctl!!!

    now the message for dbsnmp:

    now I am really stuck on this... wish i could at least finish my homeworks at home.... cuz school got the worst workstations I ever had the displeasure to use...
