After rotating through a bunch of references (trial and error) I determined that I didn't need the following.

Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects Recordset 2.7 Library
Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects (Multi-dimensional) 2.7 Library

    But did need the following.
    Visual Basic for Applications
    Microsoft Access 10.0 Object Library
Microsoft ADO Ext. 2.7 for DDL and Security (as you pointed out)
Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.7 Library

    Thanks for the help!

Are you trying to create tables/fields/database - is that why you chose ado ext. ?

I am just converting from DAO to ADO. Couple of reasons: to learn how to do it, gain familiarity with ADO, and perhaps we will migrate to a SQL Sevrer backend.

The functionality of the database is still the same. In one instance I need to make a 'backup' database if the database does not already exist. I will dump the audit trail to that database from time to time.
