Didi you use stripes when you dumped this database. You have load using the stripe syntax in the same order that you dumped.

The backup log will be in $SYBASE/$SYBASE_ASE/install

Was this backup taken in the same server? Do you know when this backup was taken?

If so, you can look at the backup log and get the details on how this backup was taken.

    Re: LOAD DATABASE problem

This database has been dumped with multiple stripes and you are missing them somewhere,

Dump the source database again, and load the target with the same amount ot stripes or no stripes at all, depending on how big your db is etc

    syntax
    dump database dbname to '/dir/dbname.dmp1'
    [stripe on '/dir/dbname.dmp2']
    [stripe on '/dir/dbname.dmp3']
    ......... etc

    load database dbname from '/dir/dbname.dmp1'
    [stripe on '/dir/dbname.dmp2']
    [stripe on '/dir/dbname.dmp3']
    .......... etc
