Unanswered: Copying a record from one table to another

    Hi!

How can I copy records from tbl1 to tbl2 when the record exists on tbl1 but not on tbl2?

    Hi Jig,
What you can do is first make sure both tables have the same field types for the fields to be Appended. Then open two instances of Access, then tile them side by side on the screen. Select the tbl1 you want to copy and then paste it to table tbl2.(NOTE:Both tables need to have the same fields as well)... OR, you can create an APPEND query. Create a SelectQuery on the table you wish to append to another table(tbl1). Go to the top..MenuBar and click on Query type and select AppendQuery. When the box opens with TableName put in (tbl2)...or whatever the real name is. The select all the fields from the Field list you wish to include...(to be affected by the append). Now fill in whatever criteria you wish for the fields to be updated. Hope this helps you out. Let me know if it works.
