    Unanswered: formsweb.cfg

    Can anyone point me to a description of the contents of formsweb.cfg. Specifically I am trying to figure out how I can specify my own splash screen and if I can replace the "Oracle" graphic on the upper right of the window with my own.

    oracle@cosmora003.mwh.com:321:/u01/app/oracle/product/9.0.2/forms90/server> grep -i splash formsweb.cfg
    splashScreen=mwhsplash.gif

    oracle@cosmora003.mwh.com:322:/u01/app/oracle/product/9.0.2/forms90/server> ls -l /home/webroot/docs/mwhsplash.gif
    -rwxrwxr-x 2 ssmith dba 7584 Nov 25 2002 /home/webroot/docs/mwhsplash.gif

    where /home/webroot/docs is Apache's DocumentRoot.

    Hi,

    SYSTEM PARAMETERS

    These have fixed names and give information required by the Forms Web CGI in order to function. They cannot be specified in the URL query string. But they can be overridden in a named configuration (see below).

    baseHTML=%FORMS60%\server\base.htm
    baseHTMLJInitiator=%FORMS60%\server\basejini.htm
    HTMLdelimiter=%
    MetricsServerPort=9020
    MetricsServerErrorURL= ;

    The next parameter specifies how to execute the Forms applet under Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0. Put IE50=native if you want the Forms applet to run in the browser's native JVM.
    IE50=JInitiator ;

    USER PARAMETERS
    These match variables (e.g. %form%) in the baseHTML file. Their values may be overridden by specifying them in the URL query string(e.g. "http://myhost.mydomain.com/ifcgi60.exe?form =myform&width=700") or by overriding them in a specific, named configuration (see below)

    1) Runform arguments:
    form=test.fmx
    userid=
    otherparams=

    2) HTML page title, attributes for the BODY tag, and HTML to add before and after the form:
    pageTitle=Oracle Forms Server
    HTMLbodyAttrs=
    HTMLbeforeForm=
    HTMLafterForm=

    3) Values for the Forms applet parameters:
    width=650
    height=500
    separateFrame true starts you webforms in a window outside your browser
    separateFrame=false
    splashScreen=no
    select default background by not specifying a value background= lookAndFeel=Oracle
    colorScheme=teal
    serverApp=default
    serverPort should match the port on which the forms server is listening serverPort=9000
    serverHost=
    connectmode can either be sockets/HTTP/HTTPS ( htttp 1.1 + SSL ) connectMode=socket
    archive need to refer to the jar-file
    archive=f60web.jar
    SATHISH .

    Satish & Ana,

    Thanks for the info it was helpful. What I really could use is a reference to the document that explains the fields and hopefully gives file locations. Have you learned all of these things through trial and error? (I hope not). My problem is I am on W2000 and the path structure and naming is different then Ana's. I tried searching for directory and file names similar but so far have been unlucky.

    None the less, what you gave me has given me things to consider and I do really appreciate your input.
