    Unanswered: Transaction Log is full

    Hi all:

I have a database that has a full transaction log, the database is on a server that has no more space to expand the size. I have tried
    Dump tran <name> with trucate_only
    Dump tran <name> with no_log
    and nothing seem to work.

does any body have any other ideas?

    Thanx

    What is the output of
    Code:
    use YourDB
    go
    dbcc gettrunc()
    go
    ?

    and

    Code:
    select * from master..sysprocesses where dbid=db_id("YourDB")

    Re: Transaction Log is full

check for a long running/hanging transaction and kill it
this is how you find this out:

select * from syslogshold where dbid = db_id('your_db_name')
    go

note the process id of the offending transaction and kill it using kill command
