Hello,

found a very strange thing in Access 2002.

I created a query where the base data comes from a text file linked as a table. There's some cross table stuff and so on.... the final query produces the output and runs just fine.

Now I tried to write the output into an existing table in my DB (using INSERT INTO whatevertable) and Access asks for a confirmation as changes to a linked table done by my query can't be undone. Of course I switched of the 'confirmation for action queries' under 'options'.

Has anybody seen such behaviour? in NO way my query is modifying the base table which is linked... it just selects and writes the data into an existing local table. How can I stopp Access asking for that confirmation?

thanks, rgds
