Too bad they don't show you the pain of getting the data in and out in chunks...

    I mean puuuuuleeze

    Code:
    --WRITETEXT sample
    create table #t (n ntext)
    insert #t values('abc')
    DECLARE @ptrval binary(16)
    SELECT @ptrval = TEXTPTR(n)
    FROM #t
    WRITETEXT #t.n @ptrval 'def'
    select * from #t
    drop table #t
If you can avoid storing images in your database, do so...store the filepath where they are located on the server....

    If you can't doog luck

    OK now for a big

The physical order of data in a database has no meaning.

creating a relationship between a database and file system may lead to cumbursome maintenance and recovery procedures. you still have to have the same amount of disk space anyway.
