    does anyone what the follwoing error mean:

    Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
    [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Operation must use an updateable query.
    /ddd/ddd/register.asp, line 126

    it appears during sign up registration

    That error is usually received when you do not have permission to write to the directory that the database is located in. Contact your administrator and have them resolve your problem, if your administrator is anything like mine, you will just end up resolving the problem yourself. Have fun...

    im the administrator. how can i solve the problem? i can't figure out the solution.

    Check what user you are connecting as. Chances are the IIS_User does not have write permission on the directory your database is in. You don't need to give the IIS permission on the directory, just the database AND the temp directory should do fine.
