    Unanswered: Searching for "fields" in tables

    I'm sure this is a very common query which everyone needs to use sometime or the other, but somehow I have been unable to find an efficient way of getting this done:

    I want to list out all the tables in the current schema/ database which contain a field named (say) "test".

    Fairly simple and straightforward question, eh?

    Now can someone point me as to how to go about doing this (in Oracle ofcourse)

    Thanks in advance...

    Hi,

    You can use USER_TAB_COLUMNS view for this purpose..

    Sample Query :

    select table_name,column_name from user_tab_columns where column_name like '%COL%';
