    Unanswered: Copy LONG field

    Hi,
I'm trying to copy some records containing LON field between two tables.

    I used the following instruction:

copy to user/pass@DB INSERT user."TABLE1" using select * from user."TABLE"

but in this mode I'm not able to copy field more the 64K and the remaining values are truncated.

How do I do to solve this problem??

    Thanks

you need to "set long 4000" or some other large number.

To test set your long definition to some large number and then select you "long" field from the DB and see if you get the whole field. Keep increasing the number until you do.

    I have done:

set long 700000 (My fields containing about 700000 characters)

but the values are truncated about to 64000

That should work. Did you get you get a straight select to show you the full data stream?

Are you certain that your full value is getting into the data base? Maybe it is truncated on input.
