Question Unanswered: Accessing Sybase's @@identity problem

We're using dummy tables for storing autonumeric data (identity fields) so we're aware the way to access and retrieve those autonumerics:

    insert into dummy_table values ()
    select @@identity

The first part is working quite good... just an insert but we're having a bad time with the second (select @@identty).

We ALWAYS get a SQLException (Result set IDLE, not currently accessing a row -more or less that's the exception description). We've changed the select to "select @@identity as column1" but the result is the same.

Anyone can help? Thanks a lot.

    Somewhere on the 3rd planet.
Could you please post a getMessage() output from your exception?
    Best regards,
