    What error?
    shadow_core_dump is a parameter.

    Do you mean when you get an error and core dump from the shadow process? There is no single workaround to a core dump - it can be caused by any number of reasons.

    Contact Oracle Support with the alert log, trace files, and stack trace from the core dump. They will help you get a stack trace if you don't know how.

    Stop doing what caused the error or apply patch, if available.

    I have a banking system which is running fine on the live environment.

    It is written with FORMS6 and oracle backend.

    When i start end of day process, It says
    ora-03113 END OF COMMUNICATION Channel

    if i check the user dump , in the alert_log file i see
    Shadow_Core_Dump=FULL

    I did a TKPROF with the trace files generated. No errors were loged into that.

    Hope this will ring some bell
    Thanks and regards

    If it was working fine before, what has changed?
    Does it happen every time you run the end of day process?

    Wrong type of trace file to use tkprof on.
    Check the trace file - there will be an error, probably ORA-7445.
    It should also have the SQL statement that was being executed at the time.

    What I omitted from my previous post, and what anacedent pointed out, is to be sure you are on the latest patchset.

    If the problem persists, contact Oracle Support with the trace files.

    You could also try testing/re-working the SQL that was executing when you got the problem.

    I suspect that you are seeing more than just than the single line above,
    but are keeping the rest of the pertinent alert_SID.log entries a secret.
    You seem to be fixated on "Shadow_Core_Dump=FULL";
    which may or may not be meaningful.
